Auglaize County Jail Mugshots
Auglaize County's official roster displays booking photos. The Recent results grid includes a Photo column with mugshot thumbnails, and the inmate detail page displays a larger image when a photo is available. The sheriff's inmate lookup gateway does not display photos itself. It links into the active database after the user reads the warning and accepts the terms.
The public record is narrower than many people expect. The inspected Auglaize County detail page showed one full-size frontal booking image. No side-view set, prior booking-photo gallery, most-wanted gallery, or separate sheriff mugshot page was located in the official sources reviewed. The Recent button can show rows for current and released people, so a photo on a recent row does not mean the person is still in custody.
Where Auglaize County Booking Photos Appear
Booking photos appear in two places on the official roster. Search results show thumbnails in the Photo column. The full detail page shows the larger booking photo through the county's mugshot handler when available. Missing images can occur, and the result thumbnail alt text observed in research used No Photo when no public image was returned.
- Open the sheriff inmate lookup gateway and enter the active roster.
- Search by last name, first name, booking number, or use Recent.
- Check the Photo column in the result grid.
- Open the Booking # link to view the full detail page.
- If the photo is missing or the record is not visible, request the booking photograph through the sheriff's public-records channels.
The sheriff inmate lookup gateway is the official starting point before the active roster opens.
The gateway is important because its notices explain that roster data can lag, contain omissions, or differ from eventual court records.
Auglaize County Mugshot Profile Fields
A mugshot appears beside the booking and charge fields on the full inmate profile. The photo should be read with the profile fields around it: booking number, inmate ID, booking date, release date, name, public city and state fields, date of birth, race, sex, height, weight, hair, eyes, charge number, statute, statute description, bond type, bond amount, case number, and disposition.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Booking Photo | Full-size public image on the detail page when available; thumbnail in results. |
| Booking # | Numeric booking episode linked from the results grid. |
| Inmate ID | Separate person ID in the jail system. |
| Release Date | Blank if still held in the inspected current sample, populated for released rows. |
| Charges | ORC statute, description, bond type, bond amount, case number, and disposition fields. |
| Withheld fields | Housing unit, arresting agency, home street address, phone, SSN, and property details were not visible in the sample. |
The sample roster profile inspected for research shows the full-size booking photo area and charge grid.
The photo is part of the booking record. It should not be treated as proof that the person was convicted of the listed charge.
Are Auglaize County Mugshots Public?
Ohio does not impose a blanket statewide ban on local jail booking-photo publication. In Auglaize County, the sheriff roster currently publishes mugshots for public roster entries when a photo is available. The sheriff gateway cites Ohio's Public Records Act for roster access and warns that the database may be delayed, omitted, or inaccurate because jail populations change continuously.
Key Statutes:
ORC 149.43 is Ohio's Public Records Act and is cited by the sheriff lookup gateway.
OAC 5120:1-8-01 requires full-service jail reception records and inmate identification by photograph or identification bracelet.
ORC 2927.22 defines booking photographs and bars fee-based mugshot removal or correction schemes.
Auglaize County Mugshot Retention
The county does not publish a fixed public-retention window on the roster page. Research on June 24, 2026 found that the Recent button returned rows booked from June 17 through June 23, including current and released rows. The roster also has an Include Archive Records checkbox, which suggests older records may be searchable, but the public page does not define the archive period.
What is and is not public: The roster can show booking photos, recent releases, charge rows, and bond fields. It does not publish a full internal booking file, full home address, property inventory, or a final proof of conviction.
Request Auglaize County Booking Photo
When a booking photo is not visible online, use the sheriff's public-records channels. The sheriff page states that public records can be officially requested at any time by telephone, fax, email, or through a public website utility portal. Include the person's full name, date of birth if known, booking number if known, approximate booking date, and a clear request for the booking photograph or booking record.

Mugshot Removal and Court Relief
For the official county roster, corrections or record questions should go to the sheriff or jail records channel because the sheriff says data may contain errors, omissions, or delays. For court-record relief, sealing or expungement depends on Ohio law and a court order. ORC 2953.32 is the research-identified sealing and expungement statute for qualifying conviction records and bail forfeitures, with exceptions.
Ohio's mugshot-removal fee law is also important. ORC 2927.22 prohibits publishers from soliciting or accepting a fee to remove, correct, modify, or refrain from publishing criminal-record information, including booking photographs. Do not pay a commercial site for removal. If a case is sealed or corrected, use the court order and agency records process rather than a fee-based removal pitch.
State and Federal Booking Photos
State prison photos are different from county booking photos. ODRC Offender Search can show an offender photo and prison or supervision details for a person sentenced from Auglaize County, but it is not the county jail mugshot source. It shows state prison profile data such as offender number, institution, status, offense information, county of commitment, docket, sentence, and judge.
Federal systems are different again. The BOP inmate locator focuses on federal inmate number, location, and release information, not county-style arrest mugshots. ICE locator searches current immigration detention by A-number or by name, country of birth, and birth date, but it is not a local mugshot gallery. If a person disappears from the Auglaize County roster, the public photo path may have changed with custody.
| Photo Source | What It Means | Where to Search |
|---|---|---|
| County booking photo | Jail intake photo tied to a local booking. | Auglaize County Inmate Inquiry. |
| ODRC offender photo | State prison or supervision profile photo. | ODRC Offender Search. |
| Federal custody | No county-style public mugshot roster. | BOP or federal court channels. |
| ICE detention | Immigration locator status, not a public mugshot page. | ICE Online Detainee Locator. |
Mugshots Are Not Convictions
A booking photo means a person was processed through a jail or law-enforcement intake process. It does not prove a conviction, sentence, or final court outcome. The sheriff gateway warns that arrest information is not the same as final court charges, indictments, or dispositions. To check what happened after an arrest, search the court case in CourtView and compare the docket with the roster charge rows.
The records path is simple: use the roster for booking photo and custody status, use CourtView for filed court records after an arrest, use ODRC for sentenced state custody, and use BOP or ICE only when federal or immigration custody applies. VINE can add custody-status notices, but it should not be treated as the only historical record source.
